After a few weeks of researching, I found “Ten”. I was in amazement of how pro these guys were. Their sound was authentic and seemed like they enjoyed playing the music. I noticed that the band posted a blog on their website, stating that they were holding auditions for a lead singer. I called up their Manager (Todd) and told him I was interested in trying out for the band. I mailed him a “Karaoke” disc of some Pearl Jam recordings that I did. He was impressed and told me to fly down for an audition. I sang a few tunes and I was offered the position not too long after the audition. This was August 2005. Since then the band has accomplished many things and has overcome many obstacles. The key to our success has been contributed to the quality of our friendship, teamwork, and passion for the music.

How I found myself on stage with The Sounds of Seattle goes back nearly 3 years ago. I was performing with my band "Weathered Soul" in Pittsburgh. Ray Jones was running our sound that night (jack of all trades). I sang a few Led Zep and AC DC songs throughout the show. Ray approached me and shook my hand. Next thing I knew we were talking business over a shot of Jager. Ray asked me if I had ever sang anything by Chris Cornell. One week later, I met the rest of "The Ten Band" while walking on stage to sing and perform "Hunger Strike" for the first time with Nick Rhodes. I was only supposed to do a few shows with them, but it turned into something fun...so we kept at it. It has challenged me as a vocalist on so many levels. Hell, I found vocal chords I never knew I had! What is great about this whole thing is that I get to hang with great and extremely talented people, perform music that has a nostalgic appeal to so many, and see the country... they pay me to do that!

I
joined the tribute scene with Ten Band in late 2004. I love Pearl Jam
so much and felt my musical career needed a change. I just wanted to
have some fun, play music I love, and see what happens...and
things have been happening ever since.
Mike Mizia
I'm Mike Mizia and I've been playing bass
since the mid 80s. I was turned on by
groups such as Iron Maiden, Quiet Riot, and Van
Halen while in High School and later discovered Zeppelin, the Doors and
Black Sabbath. I was basically born into Hard Rock/Heavy Metal. I played in the super-longhaired cover band, High Voltage for 7 years. Like Ray, I played with the promising original act, Ike McCoy Band thru the mid 90s...the "Dave Matthews Era" if you will. I also did a stint with Ray in Strangeway as well. Surprisingly, one of my favorite bands to play with over the last couple of years has been the Washington County-country band, Ruff Creek. We played huge shows in Western PA.
I've acquired a few American made SPECTOR BASSES
over the years. My whole bass identity revolves around the Spector bass.
I could play NOTHING else at this point. The grunge bands we play are
still some of my favorite music, but if you really want to check
out real bass playing you need to go back to Geezer Butler,
John Paul Jones and John Entwistle. They are the "be all to end all".

For the part of a quarter century, music has been an integral and flourishing piece of my life. Starting out listening to the likes of Otis Redding, Temptations and many r & b bands as a child while cruising in my family’s 57 Chevy to as a teenager discovering the albums of Machine Head, Led Zeppelin IV and Charlie Daniels, music became the foundation. Throughout my years playing guitar and discovering music has been an ongoing journey which has varied from writing music and playing in original bands to paying homage to the bands that have inspired me over the years.
During the 90’s I played in an original band Voodoo Wagon which captured the vibe of Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones as well as embraced the rawness of the emerging grunge scene. Several songs were released on compilations through Foundation Forum and Concrete which led to other recording ventures. But like all good things the band came to an end after a long time pursuance. After that I played with a band called Sleeping Giants whom had several records under their belt as well as played the Conan Obrien Show. I primarily spent several years playing many venues throughout Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, West Virginia and Ohio with Sleeping Giants. In addition, to several original music ventures I played in many funk, blues, rock, country that had some success as well. As I mentioned before it has been a musical journey that still moves forward.
Currently, in the Sounds of Seattle band I get to be a part of a band that brings together many talented musicians as well as the passion for the Grunge era music. Moreover, as a unit we are comparable to a family that grew up traveling and living the music. From rocking out to the songs of Alice n Chains, melodic and heavy riffs of Soundgarden to jamming the various styles of Pearl Jam, grunge music is alive and well. Each band within the Sounds of Seattle provides a different aspect of grunge music and style. In regards to gear I play a 58 Gibson Les Paul (Mary Ford Ed.), custom Warmouth Rosewood Telecaster and a Top hat amplifier.
